A royal insect

Look, something is buzzing between the flowers. Yellow, fuzzy, and a little chubby. It’s a bee! It’s here to collect nectar. With it, it makes honey. And guess what? Along the way, it helps flowers grow. While you’re enjoying your holiday, the bee is hard at work!

Did you know that…

  • A bee flies from flower to flower, taking pollen with it. This helps flowers, fruits, and vegetables grow.

  • Bees live together by the thousands in a hive. That’s where the queen lives too. She lays all the eggs!
     

  • Do you know where honey comes from? From nectar! Bees gather it from flowers.

If you listen closely, you can hear them buzzing while they’re working.

how can you help bees?

If you see a bee flying, it’s hard at work. Clean up any sweet food or drink, so bees aren’t attracted. They love flowers at the resort, but sweets aren’t good for them.
