fly

The cleaner with wings

A fly is called that because it buzzes when it flies. This is because of its wings: they move so fast that you hear a buzzing sound. Brrrrrum! Listen closely, you might hear one coming.

Did you know that…

  • A fly tastes with its feet. Sometimes it walks over your sandwich to taste if it’s good. Go away, that’s my food!

  • A fly’s feet are sticky. They can land everywhere. Sometimes, they even hang upside down from the ceiling.

  • No matter how small its eyes are, a fly sees everything! It can look in all directions at once.

Can you look left, right, and behind you at the same time?

how can you help flies?

Flies are cleaners. They eat leftovers and help keep nature clean. But inside? They don’t need to be there. Help out by cleaning up food. That way, the flies will fly outside, where they belong.
